To market to market, a gallop a trot...

Firstly, I'd like to send a thank you out to all the sweet people that dropped by my stall at the BrisStyle Indie Eco Market, and also to those that took part in the Monster Softie workshop.  I hope you all enjoyed both the market and the workshop, and we'd love to see some of the finished monsters!

Secondly, thank you to the BrisStyle team for putting together yet another awesome market.  You girls totally rock.

We didn't have time to take many photos, but here's some to show you the fun we had.

The next day I trotted off to Finders Keepers to have a quick squiz.

Hey there. It's been a while...

Hello lovelies!

I'd say possums, but I've had a few too many close encounters with real possums this week that the term possum here brings back bad memories. Yes they're cute, but they totally freak me out! Not to mention my poor budgie when they jump on his cage.  We shall have to investigate how to keep our crazy intruders away safely before we go mental.

Mr Wicked and I have had a lovely holiday from work, and are now back in business. We actually went to Taipei, which was awesome fun. We're thinking our next trip shall have to be Japan. Or maybe Sweden. Or both :)

Anyways, I better get back into my sewing. I am making lots of scary zombies at present (hey it's almost Halloween!) and finger puppets. And finishing off lots of custom orders for you cool peeps.

Oh and before I forget, our next market is this Saturday 23rd October at St Margaret's Anglican Girls School in Ascot. It's the Mayo 2010 Arts Festival, and we're there from 10am till 5pm.

Meeting Kevin Rudd

Last Sunday we had a stall at the local Morningside Festival, held one day each year in Morningside, Brisbane.

Little did we know former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd would be there too. I couldn't resist a little chat, and gave him his very own Wicked Child softie of himself.

We also made it into mX newspaper earlier this month for the BrisStyle Eco market.  And The Beatles went to a very lovely family in Brisbane too.

Want to catch more Wicked Child Designs action ?  Come see us at the BrisStyle Twilight market tomorrow night in King George Square, Brisbane, from 5pm till 9pm.  There'll be loads  of other cool BrisStylers there too - check out the list here - http://www.bris-style.com/page/indie-twilight-market/

What's goin' on....

Hello again !

I've been busy making extra things for the BrisStyle Indie Eco Market next month.

Like bottle cap magnet sets,

and cards,

and gift tag sets from pre-loved golden books. I then made a 3 metre chain to decorate my stall with the scraps left over.

There'll be more dolls coming along too. Maybe I should book two tents...

Hope to see you there.

4ZZZ Radiothon

Wicked Child Designs made an appearance at the 4ZZZ Radiothon market on Saturday. The lovely Tess Curran, feature writer for Peppermint Magazine, fell in love with Kevin Rudd. May they spend the rest of their lives discussing the big challenges confronting Australia. I also found Holly and her cute store Pannikin at the market. I love her little animal necklaces and owl brooches. Katie from Miss Kitty Boo Boo also marketeered with her gorgeous hair clips, head bands and clothing. I couldn't resist a pair of Katie's lady beetle clips. I know a cute little girl that will love these for xmas. I also bought a 'sew cool' badge to replace one that had a mishap in my dryer... This is my shadow shot for this week, taken outside the 4ZZZ carpark. Want to do a shadow shot ? Get to Hey Harriett now. Right now. xo Teneale

Shadow Shot Sunday #11

This week's shadow shot is a little late as I am madly trying to get everything finished in time for the BrisStyle Indie Designer's Market next Saturday. I did get an opportunity to visit the Brisbane Vintage Fashion Fair yesterday with my husband Tim, Aidan and Dad. We had a blast trying on funny hats and laughing at all the crazy safari suits. Aidan scored a pair of cherry docs for $20, and I bought some cute buttons. On the way back through the fruit and veg markets Tim bought me some gorgeous yellow gerberas (i love yellow). To join in the SSS fun, head over to Hey Harriet's blog. And here's a sneak peak of what I'll be taking to the market next Saturday.
My new sign
Some little Ninjas, with a Crazy Terry keeping them in line. An Angry Bunny is annoyed as he has no travel buddy. Little does he know.... Ok sleepy bye time for me. See you all again hopefully on Wednesday. xo Teneale

4ZZZ 'You Can Swap' Market

Before 'Friday I'm In Love' rolls on, I thought I'd share some shots from the 4ZZZ market I went to last Saturday. Wicked Child Designs made an appearance. We now have loads of cute little purses and brooches which I found to be quite popular, not to mention some crazy magnets !!
Kitty Boo Boo (www.kittybooboo.etsy.com) Katie showed off her cute hair clips and funky vintage clothing.
Scampsville (www.scampsville.etsy.com) Olivia showed off her rad jewellery and also sold hand turned wood pens made by Eliza at Eliza's Art (www.elizasart.etsy.com). She also had a stall at the Brisbane Stitches and Craft show (busy girl ey?!)
Hope you all have a rad Friday, and will post again very soon. xo Teneale
