Shadow Shot Sunday #7

Yesterday my brother and I painted a traffic signal box (yes we did get permission!). It's situated on the corner of Creek Rd and Garrett St in Brisbane, and our design was Happy Feet. I chose this design as the theme had to be related to Queensland, and the director of Happy Feet is a Queenslander (George Miller, born in Chinchilla). I also thought it was very cute outside a school (was a very boring grey beforehand). Aidan and I made lots of attention with the painting, being on a busy road towards the airport. Had lots of beeps and cheers which was funny. Hope everyone likes it :D I thought I'd include some photos for the SSS for you. If you would like to be involved with SSS, head over to Hey Harriet for more info (it's listed on the side of my page). And if you'd like to paint a TSB too, head over to Queensland Urban Ecology. Have a great weekend everyone, and don't forget to enter my giveaway below which finishes midnight tonight !! xo Teneale

Giveaway Day !!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I'm taking part in Giveaway Day (May 27th), which is being run by the lovely Sew Mama Sew. Today I will be giving away a Little Red Riding Hood coin purse. It is big enough to hold credit cards, drivers licence, and business cards, and small enough to fit in your pocket. It is lined with matching red felt, and finished off with a white zip. You can also use it to store jewellery in safely when travelling. I have larger sizes available, which I will be bringing to the BrisStyle Indie Designer's Market in July (check out the BrisStyle blog for more info). If you would like to be in the draw to win this purse, please leave a comment stating why you think Little Red Riding Hood is wicked by midnight on May 31st. This giveaway is open to everyone (yes I will ship both locally and internationally). Happy Giveaway Day everyone, and good luck :D Teneale

Shadow Shot Sunday #7

How could anyone in Brisbane get an outdoor shadow shot this week ? It was hard enough getting the washing dry. Or keeping the washing in your own yard... Well I managed to get some shots of the poinsettia bush in my neighbours yard. I love the bright flowers against her white house. Very pretty when the sun manages to creep out for a moment. Happy SSS everyone. Go visit Hey Harriet's site for more exciting SSS love. xo Teneale ps. The first photo is courtesy of google. Not taken by me, just showing you it was pretty rainy this week.

Friday I'm In Love

One of my best friends from school, Kristian, organises and runs movie nights at both the Globe theatre in Fortitude Valley and Metro Arts Studio in Brisbane City. One of his more popular screenings is Rocky Horror, which includes his floorshow cast Cards 4 Sorrow. They recently asked for volunteers, and I thought I'd give makeup a spin. My husband, my dad, my brother and I all went to his show last weekend and I got to do makeup for Rocky and Riff Raff. We haven't been able to get the songs out of our heads all week, which is quite okay. They're pretty groovy... It's astounding....

brrrrr..... gotta get winter clothes out pronto !!

Poor babushka was very very cold today.
And so were the twin ducks. It's been so rainy, it rained more today in 24 hours in Brisbane than it has in 8 years. So so cold, and all the damn washing is still wet from yesterday. Urgh. Nevermind. So what was I wearing today? I tried on a new pair of mustard tights with my floral dress, which was followed very speedily with my woolly black jumper. But on a more interesting note is my handbag/bowling bag, which I love heaps more. It was a Vinnies find at Northgate, which has now become a favourite shop for me (I've also just recently bought a cute old brown suitcase there. Very into luggage at present). Op shops always seem to have the most interesting finds. Hope you like my first Watcha Wearing Wednesday blog. Meet me here again on Friday. xo Teneale

Shadow Shot Sunday #6

It was such a lovely sunny day yesterday that my brother and I went to the local park. We got very dizzy on the twirly stand up swings until our stomachs couldn't take anymore, and bopped on the little lady bugs (normally for under 5's, but that won't stop me). We flaked out for a bit on the grass, and watched the planes fly over us like Wayne and Garth (the planes fly very close over Morningside). We then got up and climbed the huge spiderweb, and discovered we could make some funky shadows while we monkeyed around. This week my SSS entry is the below shadow shot : If you would like to join the SSS fun, head over to Hey Harriet's blog - http://www.heyharriet.blogspot.com/ Have a great Sunday everyone. xo Teneale

Shadow Shot Sunday #5

I'm a huge fan of Kombis, so when I spotted this cute blue one near home I had to snap it. The shadows didn't come up as sharp as I'd hoped, but still it's my entry this week for Shadow Shot Sunday. Want to add SSS to your site ? Head over to Hey Harriet's blog to find out what to do. xo Teneale

My niece looks ultra cute in them. This month Benita is giving away your choice of ruffle pants (for girls) or bloomers (for boys) in hungry hungry caterpillar fabric. Oh so cute !! 4ZZZ 'You Can Swap' Market

Before 'Friday I'm In Love' rolls on, I thought I'd share some shots from the 4ZZZ market I went to last Saturday. Wicked Child Designs made an appearance. We now have loads of cute little purses and brooches which I found to be quite popular, not to mention some crazy magnets !!
Kitty Boo Boo (www.kittybooboo.etsy.com) Katie showed off her cute hair clips and funky vintage clothing.
Scampsville (www.scampsville.etsy.com) Olivia showed off her rad jewellery and also sold hand turned wood pens made by Eliza at Eliza's Art (www.elizasart.etsy.com). She also had a stall at the Brisbane Stitches and Craft show (busy girl ey?!)
Hope you all have a rad Friday, and will post again very soon. xo Teneale

Shadow Shot Sunday #4

As promised, here is my shadow shot for this Sunday. It was taken at the Stitches and Craft show in Brisbane, where you could leave a craft secret for everyone to read. I had a great time at the show, learning new skills, finding suppliers, and getting to chat to other local designers. Did anyone else visit the show ? What did you think of it ? Did you post a craft secret ? Leave a comment, I'm interested to know what others thought of it. Oh and if you'd like to join in the shadow chasing fun of Shadow Shot Sunday, go visit Hey Harriet's blog. I have a link on the right side of the page. xo Teneale

Friday I'm In Love

I am in love with Fridays, being the end of the working week. To top it off, I had a day off today to go to the Stitches and Craft show in Brisbane. Boy oh boy did I have fun !! I bought some funky guitar fabric from Little Diva, a cute babushka brooch from Kristen Doran Design, and a Mixtape magazine. I also made a rubber stamp in the class run by Two Cheese Please, and learnt how to screenprint in Thea and Sami's screen printing class. I've found lots of suppliers for felt and stationery supplies too. Will definitely go back again next year. At the end of the tour I even found a shadow. Come back on Sunday to see what it was. xo Teneale
